In a clinical observation, the effects of a combined aqueous extract of Pterocarpus marsupium and Gymnema sylvestre were studied in individuals with type-2 diabetes. Over six months, subjects received a formulation twice daily, consisting of 3g of the combined powders in 50 mL of water. Researchers monitored blood glucose levels, glycosylated hemoglobin, lipid profiles, and markers of oxidative stress, along with liver and kidney function. Findings from this study suggested that the combination supported the maintenance of healthy blood glucose levels, glycosylated hemoglobin, and lipid profiles, alongside contributing to the management of systemic oxidative stress.
